Education, Voting and Polls

It seems strange sometimes how white folks who went to college are so much more likely to vote for HRC than Trump. I will admit I was exposed to more liberal ideas during my post high school educational years but I honestly don't think I would have ended up automatically being a racist/sexist jerk if I hadn't gone to college. What's your opinion? Do you think time in college alters a person's worldview that drastically?

Best Films of the New Millennium

This is a fun list. What are some of your favorites? My top five would be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Children of Men, The Royal Tenenbaums, Almost Famous and Requiem For a Dream.

Pandering to the Idiots

I'm not sure all the people who died that day would agree.

The history of David Bowie's relationship with sci-fi and fantasy.

One of My Modern Musical Heroes

If you like Pink Floyd (or just great progressive rock of any kind), I highly recommend you check out Steve Wilson's musical catalogue. His new solo album (titled 4 1/2) was released yesterday in the U.S.

So True

"If you're sad today, just remember the world is over 4 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie." - Simon Pegg

My Favorite Movies of 2015

Like most years, this one took a while to get rolling but eventually we were presented with lots of fun and intelligent films. Here's my top ten (in no particular order) and I will admit there are many (The Big Short, Joy, Star Wars) I haven't been able to see yet. Anyway, here goes: 1. Ex Machina 2. Spotlight 3. Ant-Man 4. Love and Mercy 5. Mad Max Fury Road 6. The Martian 7. Room 8. While We're Young 9. People Places and Things 10. Trumbo

Scare Tactics

It irks me a bit that conservatives make these wild eyed predictions and then are never held accountable later...
