No Rules (if you're not gay)

Gay marriage may soon be legal in Washington state. I was
listening to talk radio the other day and one of the
local conservatives was saying it was only appropriate
for men and women to get married because they can
produce a child together.

His comments got me thinking...if that's true why do
we let heterosexual couples who don't plan to have
children get married? Or older couples? Or postmenopausal
women?
