Here's a little something to get your blood pumping on this
cold Monday morning...

Synergy and Success

Have you heard GM is once again the world's best-selling
auto maker? Have you heard any Republicans admit they
were wrong when they tried to keep the administration
from saving it?

Could This Be Newt's Next Wife?

I'm glad Newt is still running for president because
he's so darn entertaining. Last night he was
attempting to bribe the voters of Florida with
a proposed US moonbase.

Sure, why not? We have all the money in the world...

Mitt Draws the Line

I thought the most interesting part of the GOP
debate last night was when Romney and Gingrich
were talking about the tax on capital gains.

Newt's proposing we charge no tax on capital
gains. That means Mitt would have made 45
million bucks last year and paid no taxes on it.

Even Mitt isn't that greedy...

It's Complicated...

Newt Wallace

Ah,there's nothing like a GOP debate in South Carolina.
Juan Williams tried to get uppity and Newt slapped him
down. That white audience ate it up like caviar.

Quick Spins

I ran across this cd on a website that sells Todd
Rundgren merchandise. It's all instrumentals...I
guess it's what you might call jazz rock fusion.
Highly recommended if you were ever a fan of the
Mahavishnu Orchestra or the first two Utopia albums.

I've been a Daryl Hall fan going on 40 years now and really
admire his energy and just generally what a good guy
he seems to be. His new album "Laughing Down Crying" is
first-rate rockin' blue-eyed soul. Probably his best work
since the early 80's in my opinion.

My buddy Snave just sent me a copy of "Slave Ambient" by
a group called The War On Drugs. It's pretty amazing...sounds
like country-rock being played by a prog group fronted by
Bob Dylan. You can give them a listen below:

Mitt the Hollow Man

I used to worry that Romney would be the GOP's most
dangerous candidate in the general election because
he seemed moderate compared to the rest of the goon
squad. But now with each passing day he just looks
and sounds like a greasy haired automaton who doesn't
care about anything besides making money and satisfying his desperate need for power.

Say This, Don't Say That

I find it very odd that GOP strategist Frank Luntz goes
on the air and tells his party what words to use during
their campaigns. It's a bit like a football coach sending
a play into the game and then advising a sideline reporter
what it's going to be.

Romney the Raider

I LOVE the fact that Romney's GOP rivals are so desperate
they're even willing to attack him for being a "corporate
raider". That is not the image you want to project in

A Ticking Time Bomb For The Environment

Even if I was the kind of person who could care less about
the environment, I would still be against the proposed
XL Keystone pipeline. All it does is take oil from Canada
to tankers in Texas and then on to other countries.

Yeah, Because Only Black People Use Food Stamps

Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich have both made comments
recently about black people and government provided
assistance. It's interesting...I can't tell if they're
making a sincere effort to reach out to the black
community or if this is just their way of dissing it.

Rick Santorum Points To His Problem Area

Well, the parade of currently popular GOP candidates
marches on. Rick Santorum had good timing...it's
just too bad he's so batshit crazy.

Time For a Change

I would really like to see a change in the way we do the
primaries and caucuses. It's ridiculous Iowa and New
Hampshire have this much power every four years.

Brave New World

I didn't even touch a computer until I was in college. My grandson
is 3 years old and we gave him a type of "kiddie IPad" for Christmas.
The world is changing faster than any of us can comprehend.
