It Has To Come From The Ground Up
I think David Frum makes a really good point in this article. It's not wise to demand that the president take the lead in the gun control discussion. Conservatives have been always been wildly (and incorrectly) paranoid that he wants to disarm them. The pressure needs to come from a sad and angry public that's sick of hearing breaking news bulletins about the latest bloody episode.

Frum's favorite drink is liberal Kool Aid.
That will never happen. Ever. On both accounts. We all knew Obama would go for the gun control in the second term the minute he had a crisis he could exploit, and here it is, and he'll do his damndest. Nothing will make it through the House, so I ain't worried, and even if it does the SCOTUS would kill it- especially if he tried his executive order crap.
Second, the American people are buying fire arms so quickly manufacturers can't keep up with demand. I don't see mass efforts to take guns away from law abiding citizens. I do see armed security in schools in our future. It has come to that, and it has to happen.
TP- that's odd, wasn't he a speechwriter for Dubya? Guess his batch of the liberal Kool Aid was diluted.
Why would you say that Jim, Bush and Obama are identical on a lot of things. GWOT, econ policy, civil liberties, I could go on.
There isn't all that much difference between the two. Bush is a prolife Obama who is really into church.
It's happening faster then I thought it would;
Oh and they booted that draft dodger they had on their network too.
MUCH FASTER;
Michigan Gov. Vetoes Concealed Guns Bill
Now wall street wants outa the wing nut gun obsession
