Derelection of Duty

It seems like the bodies weren't even cold yesterday before know-it-all religious pontificators like Mike Huckabee and Brian Fischer were proclaiming that mass shootings occur because we've taken God out of schools.
Which leads me (and lots of other intelligent folks)to wonder why tens of thousands of American children have been sexually abused inside churches. Shouldn't that be the one place we can absolutely count on Him to protect our kids?

Well lets think about this- child molesters usually start this behavior around puberty. So they have a decision to make, they could become a lumber jack, oil rig worker or an accountant or some job that gives them unrestricted access to children like priest, karate instructor, or teacher.

Which do you think they would choose?

You're right but that's not really the point I was trying to make.

well I would hate Jim to think you were suggesting that we NRA members are akin to child molesting priests. Because that would be very, very offensive.

WTF? This has nothing to do with NRA members. I was making a point about people who think religious teachings should be a mandatory part of a public school education.

Well thats good, must have been reading into it too much.

As for religion in school, I don't think it will help a crazy person.

As I've said on this blog 100 times, I always get frustrated when we try to figure out why these people do these things. I don't care why active shooters start actively shooting. Who cares. There is no good reason. I just want trained, armed people there to fucking kill them when they attempt these horrible crimes. And when they happen to adults -these were small children in this instance so you can't hold them to this standard - but when it happens to adults I always get mad at the men because they always run away. Disgusting. What has happened to manhood? I would rather get shot and maybe die than let a person like this kill people. I made a deal with myself years ago that if I were ever present when one of these things kicks off I'm attacking the bastard. Even if I'm unarmed. Hey, I might die. So what? If that fucker is shooting me I'm buying time for others to escape. You have to make that deal with yourself before hand, because if you wait till the moment of truth to decide the uncertainty will breed fear and you will panic and won't react correctly. I'd like to think that after over 700 days in combat I know about fear in those types of situations. I'm telling you fear comes from the unknown and doubt. If you make the deal with yourself and program you brain beforehand on what to do, you'll be too busy acting to be afraid. So make a deal with yourselves now men, decide on what kind of men you are going to be. And if you choose to let women and children die while you save your own ass... well ... yeah we all know what you are.

I greatly admire the female teachers who did their best to hide and save the kids yesterday.

My reply would be:

Mr Huckabee, you must believe in a very weak and feeble god, if you think the actions of non believers can force your god to do anything.

Jim, not that you care about facts, but FAR more children have been molested by teachers than have been molested by clergy over the years.

Free, I admire your mindset when it comes to attacking a would-be killer in such a situation. Thinking about it ahead of time is the only way to be mentally prepared. Thanks for making me think about it and thus be ready.
