Synergy and Success

Have you heard GM is once again the world's best-selling
auto maker? Have you heard any Republicans admit they
were wrong when they tried to keep the administration
from saving it?

Could have done the same with a simple bankruptcy and not robbed the tax payers who will never get dividends for autosales.

Taxpayers weren't robbed they were repaid, on or ahead of time and with interest. Taxpayers were also spared having to take up the slack for hundreds of thousands more out-of-workers after the ripple effect went through supporting businesses of the automakers.

Republicans won't acknowledge this success story, even though it involves a big corporation. Republicans are too small, spiteful and feckless to admit their mistakes. That kind of thing takes character and integrity — virtues lacking in today's low-road GOP pols.

The bondholders were NOT repaid. And as for GM paying the tax payers back... heh heh NOT!

Here's the source on GM not paying over 50 billion back.

-From FactCheck

Yes, it’s true that GM paid back its loan from the Treasury Department, in full, ahead of schedule. But the debt was only part of the automaker bailout package. Through the Troubled Asset Relief Program, the Treasury gave GM $49.5 billion, most of which was converted into an ownership stake in the form of stock. Through this equity stake, the government still owns 61 percent of GM.
49.5 billion up in smoke and a even more in subsidy and you call that a success? What is this? Communist Russia?

Republicans haven't mentioned General Motors or GM since 2009 because they don't call it that any more. Whoever it is that instructs rightwing pundits and bloggers what to do and what to say, instructed them to always say "Government Motors" instead of GM or General Motors. And as always, the minions have followed their orders obediently.

The fact you're arguing that a 40+ billion dollar loss (lets not even get into the Chevy volt debacle) is success says all that needs to be said about liberals and their blind loyalty to Barack Obama.
