Okay, let's get this stupid Ground Zero mosque issue
out of the way...I agree with Harry Reid. It's legal
for them to put it there but I prefer they choose
a different spot further away. That small act of
compromise would TRULY help bring people together.

The thing that really bothers me is how some
Republicans like Newt Gingrich are using this
situation as a springboard for generating hatred
of American Muslims. Somebody on Morning Joe called
Gingrich a "political pyromaniac"...I thought that
was a good observation. People like him will gladly
turn us against each other if it helps them get
anywhere in their personal quest for political
power.

So, here we are in 2010 and the GOP is adding American
Muslims to their list of groups to hate. Who else
made the cut?

Blacks

Latinos

Gays

Unemployed people

And if you think I'm exaggerating about the way
black, Latino and Muslim conservatives are feeling
betrayed, just check out all the articles online
about how freaked out the leaders of those groups
are feeling these days...

As cable channels become more desperate to find new
stuff to fill their hours with and the population
becomes more and more ignorant of history, I think
we may end up with some shows like the ones being
proposed in this skit:

With all the current concern about budget deficits, it
will be interesting to see how American politicians react
in the near future when somebody asks them if our
enormous military budget should be whittled down along
with entitlements and social programs.

Funny how things worked out...
